For over 130 years now, the Richwood Independent Fair has been a source for family entertainment. While it doesn’t matter if they come for the livestock contest, concerts, horse events, rides, food or just to people watch, the community and surrounding areas, as well as people from all over the state gather on the fairgrounds for six days at the end of August thru Labor Day. There are numerous ways to get involved at the Richwood Independent Fair.

For the first time in 20+ years our midway has been chip sealed! Our main strip through the fairgrounds will double as a walking path for the Village of Richwood and be a great addition to our little community. The path connects Gill Street and Race Street making accessibility possible for all. When complete it will also include permanent benches for sitting along the path.
In order to keep the midway in great shape for as long as possible we will be installing gates to restrict motor vehicle traffic. Very similar to the Richwood Park walking path, our midway will be for non-motor vehicle traffic with the exception of fair week.
Cars will still be able to navigate around the outside of the fairgrounds to the Secretary’s Office or through the grounds. These drives have also been chip sealed and are in better shape they have ever been.
This project was made possible by the State of Ohio Capital Bill , The Union County Health Department and the Union County Engineers Office. We are very grateful to be able to complete this project for the 2025 Richwood Independent Fair!
Special thanks to Tracy Richardson, our state representative. These improvements we’ve made recently would simply not be possible without her help and support! ... See MoreSee Less
